Mark is the founder of Mark Hughes Creative, where he leads a portfolio of high profile clients through the thorny world of Customer Experience and Service design.
Most recently, Mark held a C-level position as Managing Director, Global Design at Marsh McLennan where he oversaw digital transformation and innovation for the insurance industry leader.
Prior to this role, he served as Executive Director of Digital Customer Experience at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. where he lead the design and experience strategy for the full suite of banking servicing tools across the company’s evolving product ecosystem as well as contributed to the newly implemented design system.
Previously, as a Design Manager at Sony PlayStation, the leader in digital gaming and media delivery, he led teams in designing elegant digital media products & brand experiences across platforms. As head of his own design firm, he provides much needed design services for companies challenged by their own gnarly digital ecosystems.
Notable clients include Microsoft, LVMH, Lufthansa, Warner Music, Cartoon Network, The New York Times, and CBS. Mark’s work has been recognized by AIGA, the Art Director’s Club, Adobe Design Achievement Awards, SXSW Interactive Awards, and Fast Company. He studied at the Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts (ENSBA), Paris in 2008. He is also Executive Director of UX Design Camp whose primary mission is to mold the next generation of product designers into true creative talent.
He lives with his husband Christian and their son Tank in Philadelphia.
